Is MySQL Entity supported in Visual Studio Ultimate 2012 RC?

entity-framework mysql visual-studio-2012

Question

Zzz-5-Zzz is supported by Entity Framework, and I installed it. I can't see MySQL when I attempt to install an ADO.NET Entity Data Model in Visual Studio 2012. Only Microsoft SQL Servers are available. In VS 2010, it functioned.

According to This inquiry, they are working on it. Is there an outcome?

Accepted Answer

Today's available connector.NET v6.5.4 does not support Visual Studio 2012. Initially, you cannot add a connection to MySQL in the Server Explorer.

Support will be added to 6.5.5 in accordance with the post: database forum

It seems that there are several workarounds and third-party solutions to get this running, but for my part, I'll simply wait.

use versus 2012 with this mysql connector. Once it is installed, you no longer get this issue, and the MySQL server appears in the datasource.
