"The EntityContainer... does not exist in MetadataWorkspace," says error 11 and 2002.

.net entity-framework linq

Question

I'm having trouble compiling my web application because of the following error:

Error 11 Error 2002: The EntityContainer 'SomeEntitieContainerName' for the conceptual model specified as part of this MSL does not exist in MetadataWorkspace.

I only have a*.edmx "Entity Container Name" is set to "BancorLineEntidades" in the file BancorlineDB.edmx.

Accepted Answer

It seems like either your setting is incorrect or that one of the entity foundation files is damaged.

The quickest approach to repair it would likely be to remove the model, make sure any configuration files that include references to it are also destroyed, and then recreate the model from the database.

Just my $0.01 for this mistake:

Developing Oracle database schema I changed a table's main key field's size. On another table, this field serves as a foreign key. I neglected to change the size of the second table.

I rebuild the model from the database in my Entity Framework 5.0.Net web project, however I get an error code of 2002. The EntityContainer is blah, blah, blah.

I spent a great deal of time dealing with this stupid error and the even more absurd information coming from ODT 12.
