The type or namespace name 'Core' does not exist in the namespace

c# entity-framework namespaces

Question

This particular problem occurs while I'm debugging a project I already have.EntityFramework.dll , System.Core.dll , System.Data.Entity but even soCore not referred to.

Can somebody assist me?

There is a mistake in this line,

using System.Data.Entity.Core.Objects;

This is the mistake.

The type or namespace name 'Core' does not exist in the namespace 'System.Data.Entity' (are you missing an assembly reference?)

Popular Answer

Enrique, This issue started for me when I started working on a project on my desktop that I had previously only worked on on my virtual machine. Masoud's response is ineffective. He may not have read your initial post, I believe.

I opened NuGet package manager and installed the EntityFramework upgrade that was available in order to fix the compile fault. I upgraded to 6.1.3 from version 6.1.1 that was already installed in the project. I shouldn't have had the error to begin with, but updating the version seems to have shaken whatever was stuck loose since I was able to compile without error after that.
