Visual Studio 2015 Update 1 crashes on Controller Scaffolding

asp.net-mvc-5.1 entity-framework-6 visual-studio-2015

Question

I'm trying to create some basic CRUD pages using EF6.1.3 and Visual Studio 2015, but every time I click "Add Controller," I keep receiving issues.

I tried everything, from completely reinstalling Visual Studio to reinstalling Entity Framework. The identical crash occurs when I attempt to add a controller to a newly formed, empty web project.

Prior to update 1, I was using VS2015 and experienced the same issue. I had hoped that Update 1 would fix it, but it didn't.

No error message is displayed. VS simply stops and starts again. The event log has something, but it doesn't seem to be very helpful:
