EF Migrations - There is already an object named '' in the database

Question

I'm having problems expanding my database by one table. I tried to create a new migration using the following commands:

Add-Migration AdminSett

Scaffolding migration 'AdminSett'. The Designer Code for this migration file includes a snapshot of your current Code First model. This snapshot is used to calculate the changes to your model when you scaffold the next migration. If you make additional changes to your model that you want to include in this migration, then you can re-scaffold it by running 'Add-Migration AdminSett' again.

Update-Database AdminSett

There is also no record for the migration with the name: in the database I's _Migrations table. AdminSett

When I was attempting to find out why my online Azure database would not accept my update command complaining about the same problem, I ran across this problem.

I discovered that the online database was missing multiple entries for migrations that had previously taken place when I examined the _EFMigrationHistory table (I'm not sure why this is the case; maybe I uploaded the datapac to the database but it didn't include the _EFMigrationHistory table?).

Whatever the case, I found a solution by transferring all the pertinent migrations from myu local to the online database, which allowed EF to know which migration to start from.
