Entity Framework 6: Updating entity when tracking is disabled on context

c# dbcontext entity-framework entity-framework-6

Question

I'm hoping to gain some clarity on the ideal methods for employing adbcontext with tracking turned off. What are the effects of changing thecontext.Configuration.ProxyCreationEnabled to be false

As far as I can tell, this will essentially stop entities from being tracked, but what if I later need to?SaveChanges in this circumstance? Though I can't locate any more details on it, I believe I saw a technique to manually monitor a single thing using the context. What effects does calling have on performance?SaveChanges on a context with disabled proxy creation?

I too have similar reservations about the use of no-tracking queries. Is there a way toSaveChanges following data retrieval usingAsNoTracking ?
